3 DEFIBRULATORS are on campus. Locations:
1. Church at the base of the choir stairs.
2. North end of the Parish Hall.

The timeliness of the use of the defibrillator is important as the success rate is lowered by 10% for every minute which may pass. All actions taken are covered under the Kansas Good Samaritan Law.
A Fire during Mass is unlikely but could occur. Common causes of a fire during Mass at church might be lightning strikes, faulty furnaces, carelessness with smoking materials and accidents with the use of candles and holiday decorations. While most fires which might occur during Mass would likely be small, the deadliest side effect of a fire is the possibility of smoke inhalation. With that in mind, every fire is considered major and immediate action should be taken.
It is important to know the locations of the FIRE EXTINGUISHERS:
1. South Sanctuary in the Church. Please take these actions:
Whenever their is a fire alarm, whether automated or vocally, EVERYONE must leave the building, even if you are sure that it is a false alarm or a drill.
In the church, the Usher will go to the pulpit and announce that there is a fire and give instructions.
(1) We have a plan for a safe and orderly evacuation.
(2) Please remain calm and make space for those in wheelchairs and help anyone needing special assistance.
(3) We will gather in the Parish Hall where we can easily reunite families.
ORDER OF EVACUATION: All doorways will be opened, and evacuation will proceed through all doors simultaneously unless otherwise directed. Sections will proceed out in the order directed, as follows:
A. First and foremost, handicapped and those in need of assistance at the front of the church should proceed out the south door to the ramp.
B. The front half of the church exits through the south Sacristy entrance to the right of the Altar until the handicapped have cleared the ramp, at which time, they may use the ramp as well.
C. The back half of the church exits through the west (main) entrance.
There is a tornado siren nearby on the property. If the siren goes off and there is time to evacuate the building, the Ushers will go to the pulpit and announce that there is a potential tornado and give instructions.
