Praise & Graze

Praise and Graze events are held on select Wednesday evenings as part of a series, usually in the fall or spring. We gather at 6:00 PM in the parish hall for prayer — "praise" followed by dinner— "graze".
At 6:30 PM, participants are welcome to attend the faith formation session, which could include a guest speaker, Bible study, or break-out groups. Topics cover everything from witness testimonies to internet safety to Catholic family life to prayer and spirituality.
Meals are typically catered, and guests can stay for as much (or as little) of the evening as they'd like. Children are welcome to attend, and a children's session is offered during the adult faith formation portion of the evening. Please check the calendar for additional details on each evening's specific schedule/event(s).

We are delighted to welcome Leah Conner, Executive Director of the Wyandotte and Olathe Pregnancy Clinics, for a special presentation sharing the inspiring story of these life-affirming ministries. Leah will speak about the clinics’ history, their powerful impact in supporting women, families, and children, and the ways God continues to work through their mission of compassion and hope. Parishioners will also learn how we can actively take part in supporting their efforts — through prayer, volunteering, and giving.April 29:

Built for the Sacred Liturgy: Principles for Sanctuary Design
QHR-Wea is pleased to welcome Fr. Paul Turner, Pastor of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception and Director of the Office of Divine Worship for the Diocese of Kansas City–St. Joseph, for a special presentation on the design of a Catholic sanctuary.
Fr. Turner will share the theological, liturgical, and practical considerations that shape a sacred space, helping us understand how the placement of the altar, ambo, tabernacle, and other elements both reflects what we believe and deepens our communal worship.
Our building committee found his presentation last year incredibly inspiring and helpful, and we are excited to offer more parishioners the chance to hear from him as we continue to discern the future of our sanctuary.
